A Cobb County man convicted of killing two women in 2003 is scheduled to be executed Sept. 16, according to the Georgia Department of Corrections.
Stacey Humphreys is scheduled to die by lethal injection at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the Georgia Diagnostic and Classification Prison in Jackson.
Humphreys was convicted in Cobb County in the 2003 murders of Cyndi Williams and Lori Brown. Cobb County Superior Court authorized the state to carry out the execution between Sept. 16 and Sept. 23, with Corrections Commissioner Tyrone Oliver setting the execution for the first day of that window.
If the execution is carried out, Humphreys would become the 55th person executed by lethal injection in Georgia, according to the Department of Corrections.
